Nothing is more important than your child’s health. Dental health is a key part of your child’s healthcare. Asking your dentist the right questions is very important. We are here to help. Asking these questions can help you determine the right course of action for you to follow to understand your child’s dental health Here are four questions to ask your child’s dentist.

  • How is my child’s overall dental health?

Your dentist will look at your child’s overall dental health to determine if there are any procedures, cleanings, or tests that may need to be done.

  • Will my child get a cleaning today?

Even if your child brushes his or her teeth every day, cleanings are necessary for everyone. Cleanings are necessary to get the bacteria that your child cannot reach with just his or her toothbrush.

  • Does my child need an x-ray?

X-rays are necessary to determine your child’s tooth health. They are necessary in seeing if your child’s teeth are developing correctly.

  • Can you check my child’s mouthguard?

If your child plays sports, having your dentist is beneficial in seeing if your child may need a new one. Between growth spurts, losing teeth, and growing teeth, your child’s mouth is constantly changing and ensuring their teeth are protected is important.
